W.P.I.A.L. High School Football Predictions: Week 7

Each week from the start of the WPIAL season through the PIAA State Finals, Pittsburgh SportsNation brings you the best, uncensored, no holds barred predictions by our local high school football guru who goes by the moniker “P To The Power of 2”.

He is one of our underground writers who covers the hard hitting action of WPIAL High School Football in Western Pennsylvania. Or is it she...? Either way, we'll never tell! (Unless you have a crisp $100 bill in hand)

By P To The Power of 2

Week 7 is present! PToThePowerOf2 received info yesterday that we now have new followers from the Western Beaver school district! Welcome aboard the knowledge train! We continue to gain support from the Beaver County sector. Allegheny needs to get back on the ball!

Two Gargantuan matchups are on the slate for Friday night. We must provide production!

Speaking of production, PToThePowerOf2 continued to rack up more victories! We posted a 9-1 record last week. Thus boosting the win mark greater than the amount of so-called massages of Harvey Weinstein to 44 victories and only 8 defeats. A season percentage of 84.

We are still not content with this, but we will not grumble about it, we will move on, unlike others.

Speaking of grumbling! Bewailing over commentary from weeks preceding is ineffective. Donald Trump tossed more paper towels at a press briefing in Puerto Rico than the programs purchased at a certain location in Center. Allocate your so called notion elsewhere. Your comments hold bogus value and libelous information. Back to the dune you go!

Meanwhile, where dialogue matters…..

CLASS ‘AAAA’

Thomas Jefferson Jaguars (6-0) vs Belle Vernon Leopards (6-0)

from James Weir Stadium. Friday, 7pm.

Last week, both teams continued their winning ways. TJ defeated Mars, 34-6. Belle Vernon squeaked past Trinity, 28-21. Thomas Jefferson QB Shane Stump has thrown for 773 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. RB Jason Vigna will see the majority of the workload for the Jaguars. Vigna has 907 yards this season with 13 touchdowns. Belle Vernon counters with RB Mason Pascoe, who last week rushed for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns. QB Jared Hartman has thrown for 530 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Thomas Jeffersons defense has only allowed 20 points the entire season. Jaguar defensive lineman D1 combo of Devin Danielson and Noah Palmer are nightmare matchups for offensive lineman. Leopards will attempt to counter this attack with their own D1 commit in Blake Zubovic. That’s 2 versus 1, right?

In 2015, the Leopards of Belle Vernon snapped Thomas Jefferson’s 58 game home winning streak. In 2016, Thomas Jefferson avenged and pounded Belle Vernon, 55-0.

CLASS ‘AAA’

Aliquippa Quips (7-0) vs Quaker Valley Quakers (7-0)

from Chuck Knox Stadium. Friday, 7:30pm.

This one should be a dandy! You can also catch this contest live on AT&T Sports Network.

The Beaver Valley Conference so-called title is on the line. Aliquippa will make the trip across the river to visit the Quakers. Last week, Aliquippa avenged its loss to Clairton, cruising past the Bears, 28-0.

Quaker Valley returns home after traveling to Beaver Falls and laying the smack down on the defending state champs, 41-14. Quakers QB Ricky Guss leading the Quakers offense that has averaged 45 points per game. He has 30, that’s 30 touchdowns this season, setting a school record.

The Quips win on defense. Aliquippa has not given up 1 single offensive score this season.

The Quips have only surrendered 33 first downs.

Offense versus Defense. The spotlight will be on Quaker Valley. The Quips are used to the spotlight, they showed why last week. They’ll do it again Friday.
