The 2015 “Highway To Heinz” continues Friday night as the field has been narrowed, to the Quarterfinals we go in the WPIAL playoffs, the first round was a test for some, but for others, just another week….PToThePowerOf2 bitch slapped his haters square in the face by posting a 31-1 record in Week1 of the playoffs….posting a winning percentage of 97%....and raising the overall 2015 season total faster than Lamar Odoms hospital bills to 106 victories and only 16 defeats….

We’ll give you 4 previews this week, 1 in each classification and then the selections for the rest…..Let’s get to work….
 
 
CLASS ‘AAAA’
 
# 7 McKeesport Tigers (9-1) vs # 2 Penn Trafford Warriors (10-0)
 
From Gateway highschool where the Gateway drug is being dealt…..A rematch will take place in the Quarterfinals.  Penn Trafford defeated McKeesport 21-7 earlier in the season during week 3. During the opening round of the playoffs McKeesport defeated Seneca Valley, 48-0 and Penn Trafford destroyed North Hills, 56-7.  Penn Trafford will lean on their top RB in Brett Laffoon and QB Jonah Lisbon who have combined for over 2,000 yards of total offense.  McKeesport will counter with RB Khaleke Hudson who has 1,118 yards and 24 touchdowns. A rematch that will be very, very close….maybe overtime….PToThePowerOf2 likes the upset special….

# 3 West Allegheny Indians (8-2) vs # 6 Thomas Jefferson Jaguars (8-2)
 
From the ever beautiful Upper St Clair campus….the 5th meeting between Palko’s Indians and Cherpak’s Jaguars will commence on Friday night….The Jaguars crushed Armstrong last week, 42-7….The Indians defeated Hollidaysburg, 28-8.  West Allegheny continues to ride the back of RB Terrence Stephens and Whitney White. Stephens has 1,333 yards on the season and White has 649 yards on the season for a combined 1,982 yards rushing and a combined total of 28 touchdowns. Thomas Jefferson will counter with Quinton Hill and Braden Pahanish. The Jaguars put up a season high 538 yards in offense last week. Hill and Pahanish have a combined total of 1,936 yards rushing and 30 touchdowns. West Allegheny has won the last 3 playoff games between the 2 schools…in 2009, 28-21…in 2012, 24-7 and last year, in a drubbing, 41-7…West Allegheny looks as if the magic has run out since the loss at Woodland Hills 4 weeks ago….PToThePowerOf2 said that no one is watching the Jaguars since the 0-2 start….they’ll sit up and take notice after this one….

# 4 Beaver Falls Tigers (9-1) vs # 5 Steel Valley Ironmen (9-1)
 
From Montour high where they’ll be taking donations at the gate so Lou Cerro can recruit next season because he choked in 2015….Steel Valley destroyed New Brighton last week, 49-7 and Beaver Falls squeaked past Apollo-Ridge, 33-29. Beaver Falls RB Malik Sheperd will lead the way for the Tigers as he eclipsed the 1,000 yard rushing mark last week.  Steel Valley RB DeWayne Murray surpassed the 4,000 career yard mark last week. Murray rushed for 229 yards and 5 touchdowns last week. Beaver Falls is still shocked & cannot get over the defeat from Aliquippa in week 9….they got the job done last week….but not this week….it ends again for the Tigers in Corapolis….

#1 Clairton Bears (10-0) vs # 9 Avonworth Antelopes (8-2)
 
From Peters Township where the parking is awful, make sure to get a moped to save your shoes…..Avonworth enters by defeating BethCenter, 28-12. Clairton defeated Carmichaels, 70-6. Clairton leads the WPIAL in scoring with a staggering average of 60.6. Bears QB Aaron Williams is close to the 2,000 passing yard mark this season. Avonworth QB Zach Chandler only needs 3 yards to pass the 3,000 yard mark. A rematch of last years Class ‘A’ championship game at Heinz field where Clairton defeated the Antelopes, 46-14.  Not much will change….
