Penguins need to channel their inner Jack Bauer

If you're a bad guy and you look over your shoulder and see Dirty Harry, Jack Bauer, or Paul Kersey chasing you, it's a foregone conclusion. Your days of breathing are coming to a close.

If you see the Penguins behind you, and I'm talking the Pittsburgh ones, not the Bud Ice one, you may get a stay of execution, or just outright get away.

Since taking over the Penguins, Dan Bylsma has done many great things for the organization, including winning Lord Stanley's Cup in his first year as coach. But, one thing Bylsma's teams have been notorious for has been NOT closing out series, especially at home.

During their Cup run, the Pens failed to close out the Flyers in game 5 and the Capitals in game 6. Last season they lost in game 5 against Ottawa, and ofcourse, game 7 vs Montreal. Now they've lost to Tampa in game 5 this season.

It's a disturbing trend to say the least.

Now I don't know what Bylsma needs to do, short of delivering a Herb Brooks-like speech before series clinching games, but the fact remains, SOMETHING needs to change in the Penguins' routine when it's time to put the opposing team out of their misery.

Where's Jack Bauer when you need him?
