W.P.I.A.L. High School Football Predictions: Week 4

Each week from the start of the WPIAL season through the PIAA State Finals, Pittsburgh SportsNation brings you the best, uncensored, no holds barred predictions by our local high school football guru who goes by the moniker “P To The Power of 2”.

He is one of our underground writers who covers the hard hitting action of WPIAL High School Football in Western Pennsylvania. Or is it she...? Either way, we'll never tell! (Unless you have a crisp $100 bill in hand)

By P To The Power of 2

Week 4 is now here… the halfway point! This is where we separate the pretenders from the contenders. In action tomorrow, we have huge conference match-ups that will predict who is for real and who is just plain rubbish.

Last week, PToThePowerOf2 posted a record of 6-4, that being one of the worst weeks of all time. In the five seasons PToThePowerOf2 has prognosticated, it was the lowest of lows.

Has PToThePowerOf2 lost a step or two? Is this the beginning of the end?

Our regular season total now stands in with 31 victories and 9 defeats, 77%.

Peters Township Indians (3-1) vs North Hills Indians (4-0); Friday, 7:00 pm

Peters Township opened plenty of eyes last week when they upended West Allegheny 42-28.

Peters Township will rely on QB Logan Pfeuffer who has thrown for at least 1 touchdown in each game this season and roughly 100 yards per game.

North Hills forgot how to play offense last week barely defeating Hampton, 3-0. North Hills will rely on the ground attack with RB Tyler Brennan, who will continue to tote the rock for North Hills.

A battle of Indians, no casinos are up for prize here. Last week, PToThePowerOf2 was burned, not this time, not this time.

Peters Township over North Hills

Aliquippa Quips (4-0) vs Beaver Falls Tigers (4-0); Friday, 7:00 pm

The largest rivalry north of the city in Beaver County will take place Friday night at Reeves Stadium on the campus of Geneva College, when the Mighty Quips make the trip north on 18 to visit the Tigers.

Beaver Falls looks as if they've turned a corner from a putrid 2017 season, storming out of the gate to a sterling 4-0 record. Last week the Tigers defeated Quaker Valley 25-14. The Tigers have outscored their opponents to date, 155-22.

Aliquippa will bring in one of the most talented teams they have had in 15 years. Senior QB Eli Kosanovich has thrown for 795 yards and 15 touchdowns in only 4 games. An average of 198 yards per game with 4 touchdowns (39 of 53, 74%). Aliquippa has only allowed 6 points on the defensive side of the football, oh, and not to mention, MJ Devonshire has returned SIX punts for touchdowns in four games and is on the verge of breaking the USA High School football record, held by Jack Kline of Iowa from 2013, when nine were taken in for touchdowns.

Early night for Tiger fans, they have not seen a team of this caliber since, well, Aliquippa! Not even close, they’ll be heading for the exits early on College Hill.

Aliquippa over Beaver Falls
