WPIAL High School Football Predictions: Week 3

Each week from the start of the WPIAL season through the PIAA State Finals, Pittsburgh SportsNation brings you the best, uncensored, no holds barred predictions by our local high school football guru who goes by the moniker “P To The Power of 2”.

He is one of our underground writers who covers the hard hitting action of WPIAL High School Football in Western Pennsylvania. Love him , or hate him, he simply tells it like it is... Or is it she? Either way, we'll never tell! (Unless you have a crisp $100 bill in hand)

By P To The Power of 2

Week 3 has arrived and the sun is setting just slightly after kickoff now that the summer is closing on 2019.

PToThePowerOf2 posted a perfect 10-0 record last week. Raising the season total to 29 victories and a mere, 6 defeats. 82%.

Our thoughts are with the folks in Jeannette after the shooting last weekend. The gun-violence has to stop, whatever happened to "You win some, you lose some, but you live,  you live to fight another day".......

Not any great match-ups Friday from what we see on the agenda. A couple good games.

We'll take a sneak peek into two, then give your our selections for week 3.

Class 3A

Central Valley (3-0) vs North Catholic (3-0)

Friday from Mars Area School district. A so-called neutral site game.

Last week, Central Valley capitalized on five Beaver Falls turnovers to escape, narrowly to the score of 21-6. CV Ameer Dudley is the do-it-all QB for CV. He's thrown for 385 yards and four touchdowns. Most of them deep shots.

North Catholic defeated Freeport, 28-20. Last year, the Trojans defeated Central Valley 14-13, which eventually forced CV onto the road for the playoffs in round 1.

Revenge dish coming up....

Central Valley over North Catholic

Class 5A

McKeesport (2-1) vs Penn Trafford (3-0)

Penn Trafford shocked everyone two weeks ago by upending favorite Gateway and then last week destroying Connellsville, 41-7. The PT Warriors will use RB Caleb Lisbon who has six touchdowns and 365 yards rushing on the season. QB Gabe Dunlap has thrown for 311 yards and has rushed for 250 yards.

McKeesport last week fell victim to the three time defending PIAA State Champion Erie Cathedral Prep Ramblers, 33-14. The Tigers do not pass much, but they'll use the three man rush attack with Robison, Andrews and Wagner. Sounds like a law-firm. They have 10 touchdowns and roughly 600 yards combined.

The Tigers are in trouble.....

Penn Trafford over McKeesport

As for the others......

New Castle over Beaver

Mt Lebanon over Seneca Valley

Peters Township over West Allegheny

Thomas Jefferson over Indiana

Aliquippa over Montour

Beaver Falls over Quaker Valley

Western Beaver over Riverside

Blackhawk over Ambridge
