W.P.I.A.L. High School Football Predictions: Week 7

Each week from the start of the season until the P.I.A.A. State Finals, Pittsburgh SportsNation will bring you uncensored, no holds barred predictions by our local high school football guru who goes by the moniker “P To The Power of 2”. He is one of our underground writers who covers the hard hitting action in W.P.I.A.L. High School Football in Western Pennsylvania. Or is it she...? Either way, we'll never tell!

By P-to-The-Power of 2

Another 9-1 record posted last weekend by PToThePowerOf2….taking the regular season total to 49 victories and only 11 defeats….81%! PToThePowerOf2 continues to school the competition….maybe some of the largest haters should bring a notebook and a pencil to class…..

Speaking of classlessness, it continues to run rampant in the Parkway Conference. We all know about Central Valley, Hopewell and West Allegheny…..welcome to the party New Castle…..The Hurricanes of New Castle have come completely accepting of this garbage….this team has reached a low point that is unbelievable…..that this season could become like this, and you could see it last weekend….Who throws a fist at a child? Joe Cowart does! 12 players suspended and head coach Joe Cowart suspended, plus 1 assistant for fighting…. People are actually paying to watch this? You’ve got to be kidding me! If I was the superintendent at New Castle , I’d jump off the roof!  I would be afraid to show my face in public if I was Joe Cowart. The one thing we always say about New Castle ….now we all know the truth….garbage! They were yesterday, last Friday and will be again this weekend….this team is a mortal embarrassment….and it was shown how by a loose cannon coach…..

Meanwhile, there are good contests on tap, let’s get to work….

CLASS ‘AAAA’

Plum Mustangs (5-1) vs McKeesport Tigers (5-1) 7:00pm Friday from Weigle-Schaeffer Stadium.

Plum last week upended Connellsville, 49-23 and McKeesport defeated Hopewell , 49-14.  The Tigers are led, on the ground, by TB Khaleke Hudson who has 595 yards on 59 carries and has scored 17 touchdowns. QB Tymar Sutton has also rushed for over 200 yards this season. McKeesport will not pass the ball much as 3 other players have rushed for over 200 yards besides the 2 gentlemen mentioned. Plum will counter with QB Corey Thomas who has 371 yards passing, 139 yards rushing and has 8 touchdowns. Ashton Teeter has 17 receptions for 378 yards.  TB’s Nick Coxon and Jaleel Bey have combined for close to 500 yards rushing.  McKeesport is going on short rest as they last played on Saturday. That won’t effect the Tigers though….PtoThePowerOf2 sais ….

West Allegheny Indians (6-0) vs Woodland Hills Wolverines (6-0) 7:30pm Friday from the Wolvarena.

Last year when these teams clashed in an epic battle in Imperial, The Indians of West Allegheny won in overtime by the final of 42-41.  West Allegheny last week defeated Blackhawk, 41-14 and Woodland Hills defeated Canon McMillan 49-7.  West Allegheny will rely on the tailback duo of Terence Stephens and Whitney White. Terence Stephens has 838 yards and 14 touchdowns this season. The Indians are the highest scoring team in Class AAA this season averaging 47 points per game and has defeated its first 6 opponents by the score of 282-56.  Woodland Hills meanwhile has a 41 average points per game. The Wolverines of Woody High will turn to its backfield as well with two highly talented young men in Jo-El Shaw and Miles Sanders. The combo has more than 1,200 yards rushing and has 22 touchdowns. Sanders has sat out 2 games this season and is questionable for Friday nights contest. Last year, PToThePowerOf2 went with Woodland Hills and ended in defeat….not this year, not at the Wolverna….
