Back on top of the winning chart again goes PToThePowerOf2, posting a 9-1 record last weekend….raising the season total higher than the suspension rate in Monessen & Wilkinsburg to 40 wins and only 10 defeats….80%! 

 

PToThePowerOf2 has more victories in one week than new head Blackhawk coach Joe Lamenza has had in his entire coaching career.  The board members at Blackhawk must be euphoric with their selection, he is off to his normal start thru 5 weeks of play, 0-5. His career at West Mifflin, 3-6. 7-29 at Mohawk and now 0-5…..not the correct hire here folks….Let’s not forget to mention the antiquated facility that is Northwestern Stadium. PToThePowerOf2 was informed that Friday night is homecoming for Blackhawk and the West Allegheny Indians are in town for cougar dinner….the only home thing here is folks going home, early!

Ringgold Rams (5-0) vs Belle Vernon Leopards (5-0) Friday, 7:30PM from James Weir Stadium.

 

Another Big Ten Conference showdown, the 3^rd straight week! Parkway who? The Leopards of Belle Vernon are off to their best start in years, last week they pulled a fast one on PToThePowerOf2 by upending West Mifflin on Waste Management hill, 21-7.  Leopards QB Mike Fine has been Fine, rushing & passing for a combined 500 yards and 8 touchdowns thru 5 weeks, 161 passing, 270 rushing.  TB Luke Durigon has close to 500 yards rushing and has 5 touchdowns. Belle Vernon has a stingy defense this season, only allowing 45 points all season, an average of 9 points per game.  Enter the Rams of Ringgold, on the road, led by RB Chacar Berry who has rushed for over 100 yards each week this season, for 660 yards and 11 touchdowns total.  Ringgold last week defeated Albert Gallatin, 35-6. QB George Martin has unbelievable skills for a junior, throwing for 516 yards and 6 touchdowns and no interceptions.  An unbelievable contest, the winner will take sole possession of first place in the Big Ten Conference….PToThePowerOf2 sais it’s the Leopards defense vs the Rams offense….defense wins championships they say….PToThePowerOf2 won’t get fooled again…..Ringgold over Belle Vernon

South Fayette Lions (5-0) vs Steel Valley Ironmen (5-0) Friday, 7:00PM from Campbell Field in Munhall.

 

The Century Conference has a dazzling matchup of biblical size proportions Friday night, if you can park. The South Fayette Lions are still riding that victory train, still cruising along at 37 wins in a row, quite impressive.  The Lions last week defeated Carlynton, 62-14.  South Fayette has turned their aerial attack in for some running shoes, as they are led by TB Hunter Hayes who has 500 yards on 39 carries and 9 touchdowns.  Also, TB Johnny Beck has 177 yards and 2 touchdowns.  QB Drew Saxton has 740 yards passing and 16 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. Please take note that Saxton is only a sophomore.  WR Danny Trimbur leads in receptions with 217 yards and 5 touchdowns.  Lets also not forget WR Nick Ponikvar who has 194 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The Ironmen of Steel Valley however are on a mission this season and it starts with their Iron-Like defense that only has allowed 6.8 points per game and have thrown up 2 weeks of goose eggs. The Ironmen defeated Freeport last week, 34-7.  Steel Valley QB Tre Earl Edwards, not a lawfirm, has rushed for 218 yards, thrown for 437 yards and has 13 touchdowns.  TB DeWayne Murray has 535 yards rushing on 60 carries and 12 touchdowns.  WR Elisha Hughes has 124 yards receiving with 2 touchdowns.  An unbelievable game is on tap, a late score on a turnover…..PToThePowerOf2 goes with win 38 in a row…..South Fayette over Steel Valley

Clairton Bears (5-0) vs Jeanette Jayhawks (5-0) Friday, 7:00PM from McKee Stadium, where security will be on high alert.

 

The Clairton Bears continue to destroy the competition by destroying Riverview last week, 54-6. The Bears have outscored their opponents 290 to 32. QB Aaron Matthews has tossed for 818 yards this season and has 10 touchdowns and only 1 interception.  RB Lamont Wade has just gone thru the motions so far, racking up 335 yards on 20 attempts and has 4 touchdowns. Are the Bears saving him? RB Harrison Dreher however has stolen the thunder who has 635 yards rushing and has 11 touchdowns. Jeanette is led by QB Giovanne Sanders who has 521 yards via flight and 262 yards on the ground, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions.  TB Kareem Hall has 393 yards rushing and has 10 touchdowns.  The true test here is can the Bears be ready to play from the opening whistle, they’ve slept their way thru 5 weeks…. Both teams have only allowed a total of 32 points against, an average of 6.4 points per game….PToThePowerOf2 may see a potential upset….but not here….Clairton over Jeannette
